Ohio Endurance Team & CROSSFIT AKRON

Ohio Endurance is a proud affiliate of CrossFit Endurance. As
CrossFit has changed the physical fitness industry, CrossFit
Endurance is doing the same for the endurance community. There are
close to 45 million endurance athletes in the United States alone: runners,
cyclists, swimmers and triathletes. We are on the cutting
edge of “how to” as it relates to training for your specific sport.
Our program is designed to improve your technique and help you become
a more bio-mechanically efficient athlete. Not only will this program
get you ready for your race, our methods will help minimize the
impact conventional distance training can have on the human body.
 Our methods reduce training time, which will preserve your strength
and maintain your overall health and well-being. Many elite athletes
are experiencing incredible results from these cutting edge methods.
This method of training is not only for elite level athletes, it is
for people of all ages and athletic abilities, from high school
students to seniors. Most are setting personal records and/or coming
close to the times they did in high school or college.
 At Ohio Endurance our philosophy is, “learn the skill of your
sport.” Yes, running, cycling and swimming are skilled athletic movements.
Our workouts are designed to be supplemented with CrossFit Endurance
Strength and Conditioning Workouts, or a Strength and Conditioning
Program of your own. If you are creating your own Strength and
Conditioning Program be aware that nothing will set you back faster
than poor programming. Follow the directions for each workout, if you
aren’t recovering and hitting the times that you should then take a
rest day or two! Remember, without recovery, there can be no
improvement!
  So just how do you mix Ohio Endurance and a functional fitness
program? With progression! We have discovered that four to six days
per week of Strength and Conditioning and 2 days per week of a
specific sport workout has the most success. This could be 3 days on
and 1 day off or 2 days on and 1 day off, it’s all about what works
best for you. For sport specific training (single sport such as just
running) you should conduct one interval workout, one tempo/stamina
workout, and if desired another interval workout. The cycle should be spaced
throughout the week with at least one rest day in between. Yes
we know this is contrary to what everyone else is telling you… We are
not everyone.


Group Run Workouts with certified CrossFit Endurance Coaches

Runs are lead with an utmost importance in form. Time is spent
learning how to run properly using gravity and the proper muscles to
propel yourself forward. Drills are prevalent throughout the workouts
to continue to run efficiently while working hard. Workouts follow a
simple format of Warmup, drill, workout, drill, and cooldown. Check
our schedule to see when they are offered.

Swim Coaching with CrossFit Akron and Cindy Virdo,
Firestone High School Coach

 Fitness Swimmers and Triathletes are encouraged to participate and
learn how to do it best. These COACHED swim practices will teach you
how to intelligently integrate speed & endurance into your training
routines without compromising form and efficiency. Our coaches will
provide specialized workout plans, conditioning and stroke
development drills, goal setting, and individualized instruction.
Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced workouts are provided at each
practice.


Online Training Plans with CrossFit Akron

  CrossFit Akron provides weekly workouts designed specifically for
the goals and ability level of each swimmer. These are NOT stock
workouts – with no two workouts alike! Training plans can be
designed to supplement WOD classes, offer continual guidance after
completion of a clinic or seminar, as well as coach athletes to new
personal records! Don’t waste precious training time with
cookie-cutter workouts; maximize your performance by allowing us to
provide you with a customized, time-effective workouts, designed to
best suit YOUR needs, goals and commitment level! Three different
training plan schedules are available.

EACH WORKOUT WILL INCLUDE:
* CORE PURPOSE: Detailed focal points and set descriptions accompany
each workout so you understand WHY you are swimming each individual set
and its intended purpose (i.e. speed/tempo training, recovery, skill
development, strength building, breath control etc.)
* Specific goals for heart rate & exertion levels
* Personalized intervals, distances, and focal points (monthly test sets
recalibrate intervals and tempo)
* Optional coach feedback and analysis following any workout
* RESULTS!
